to the Environment
Responsibility and sustainability are central components of our corporate philosophy. This commitment shapes our daily actions and how we manage natural resources.
As a company, we have been certified to DIN EN ISO 14001 for many years and are regarded in the region as a pioneer in environmental management. In addition, our Neustadt/Wied facility has been certified to DIN EN ISO 50001 since 2015, thereby making an active contribution to responsible and energy-efficient operations.
To continuously reduce our carbon footprint, we make targeted investments in sustainable energy solutions. These include our photovoltaic systems for generating our own electricity and the consistent use of green electricity. At the same time, we avoid substances that are harmful to the environment and work continuously to minimize emissions and resource consumption.
We also rely on innovative and sustainable solutions when selecting materials. For example, we are increasingly using ISCC PLUS-certified plastics based on the mass balance approach, which are made from verifiably sustainable raw materials and leave a significantly smaller carbon footprint. Many years ago, we developed an eco-friendly toothbrush in which mineral oil-based plastics are replaced by sustainable materials such as natural fibers or wood flour.
We place a special focus on sustainable packaging concepts. In addition to using FSC®-certified materials and recycled paper, we are driving the ongoing transition from plastic to paper packaging. As an innovation leader and first mover, we have developed a novel paper tube pouch packaging solution. Thanks to significantly reduced material usage and low packaging weight, this solution contributes significantly to resource conservation, waste prevention, and the reduction of transportation-related emissions.
We take potential environmental impacts into account right from the start when developing new products and manufacturing processes, and we integrate sustainability considerations into our decision-making processes at an early stage. In addition, we actively involve our suppliers in our sustainability strategy and evaluate them based on appropriate environmental criteria.
Our goal is to combine economic success, innovation, and environmental responsibility over the long term and to make a measurable contribution to a more sustainable future.
